Colors
A warm, understated palette supports the balance at the heart of the brand. Soft neutrals establish an elevated foundation while muted, earthy accents introduce warmth and approachability, creating a system that feels sophisticated without becoming corporate or impersonal.

Typography
The typography pairs high-contrast, editorial letterforms with generous spacing to create a sense of quiet sophistication. Subtle canine forms are integrated into the wordmark itself, adding personality and industry relevance without compromising its polished, professional character.
An Identity with Range
The Oliver Standard identity was designed as a flexible system rather than a single mark. The primary wordmark establishes the brand's refined, editorial character, incorporating subtle canine details directly into the typography. A secondary circular mark distills the identity into a compact, highly recognizable form for applications where the full wordmark isn't needed.
Together, the two marks create consistency without rigidity, allowing the brand to adapt naturally across digital, print, social, and supporting materials while maintaining a clear and recognizable point of view.
Visual Direction
The photography was developed as an extension of the brand, balancing polished portraiture with the warmth and personality of the pet industry. A flexible post-production approach allowed Mikaela's own dog, Renly, and a range of carefully selected breeds to be seamlessly incorporated while maintaining control over composition and visual consistency.
Post-production became an integral part of the creative direction. Distracting elements within the original location were removed or refined, while each image was individually color corrected, retouched, and composited to create a polished collection where every detail feels intentional and naturally part of the scene.
Brand Identity Design
Client: The Oliver Standard
A refined visual identity for a consulting business built exclusively for the pet industry, balancing polished professionalism with warmth, personality, and an unmistakable connection to the world it serves.

Strategy Meets Personality
The Oliver Standard sits at an interesting intersection: sophisticated business consulting within an industry defined by deeply personal connections between people and their pets. The identity needed to feel credible enough to represent serious strategy, systems, and growth without losing the warmth that makes the pet industry distinctly human.
The visual direction balances those two worlds. Refined typography, a restrained palette, and elegant details establish professionalism, while subtle canine references create an immediate connection to the industry without allowing the brand to feel novelty-driven or overly literal. The result is an identity designed to feel established, intelligent, approachable, and distinctly its own.
